For Aadi, it's a dream come true to work with father dad Sai Kumar
From the trailer of Chuttalabbayi, it is clear that the father and son duo, Sai Kumar and Aadi, have punch dialogues aplenty. Sample these: 'Thappu cheyadam nee lekka. Sari cheyadam naa lekka, lekka clear,' goes a line by Sai Kumar. 'Bonulo unde pulini bayata nunchi evadaina chusthadu. Bonulokelli palakarinche vade ra potugadu,' thunders Aadi. But the big question on everyone's mind is, are they playing father and son? 'You'll have to watch the film to find out,' says Sai Kumar, as Aadi joins in to sit down for a chat about Chuttalabbayi which releases today.

Excerpts.
The title Chuttalabbayi suggests it's a family entertainer....
Aadi: Not exactly, this film is for the masses; it has a beautiful love story, and has ample of family emotions woven in.
Sai Kumar: Honestly speaking, I have consciously stayed away from acting with Aadi. I had decided that if I had to do a film with my son, it had to be perfect both in terms of story and characterisation.
Director Veerabhadram has dished out a complete package. I can't wait for the audiences to watch it.
Aadi: It's not like we were desperate to work together. But working with my dad has been a long-cherished dream. The collaboration was a big deal for us. We didn't want to err.
What was it like to work asco-stars on the sets?
Aadi: I thought he'd be very strict on the sets, but he's actually so much fun! He never interfered in my work. It was incredible to see how he doesn't need to see a monitor to know whether he got a scene is right. I need to check every take of mine!

Sai Kumar: We never had these monitors when I started off, and now it doesn't feel necessary.
Who was the more nervous of the two?
Aadi: I was. Since a week before shooting began, I wondered how I'd manage with him. We all know he is brilliant.
Sai Kumar: I was very excited to begin working with him, but I had a wee bit of tension as well.
Aadi: Veerabhadram garu has woven in some amazing slice-of-life moments and, it felt like a part of our life is opening on the screen.
You are a seasoned actor with a towering screen presence. Did that play on your mind when shooting?
Sai Kumar: The characters are extremely well written and very balanced. And moreover, after many days mana heroism and power kuda ekkada taggaledu! (Twirls his moustache, smiling). I have a solo fight and all, you know. I am in my element in this one.
Aadi: Actually, he is the more energetic one among the two of us and will look more dashing than me. It was a delight to watch him.
Sai Kumar: I am proud of how Aadi found his own style that is distinct both from me and my father. Neither his body language nor dialogue delivery is influenced by us. He's young and learning and will keep doing so. I just want him to continue having fun and figure things out for himself, like always.
