The genesis of a film production company and its maiden film... We are quite familiar with a 'chat over a coffee' but a 'movie over a coffee' is something that happened recently in Kochi. On a languid day at a coffee shop, director Aashiq Abu, O G Sunil, and
Suraj Ramakrishnan caught up in a restaurant for a casual talk. Somewhere in the middle of the conversation Aashiq Abu said, "I'd like to make a film." OG did not let his watch tick a second to say "Why not? I am game." Not surprisingly, Aashiq already had a plot in his mind, a story that he had been conceptualising during the days of the making of Daddy Cool.
That lead to the birth of a new film,
22 Female Kottayam, and a new film production company, Film Brewery. "Within 18 days, 80 per cent of the pre-production works were done. Hats-off to the whole team, including Rima Kallingal," says O G Sunil, producer of the movie. Being the maiden venture of Film Brewery, the whole team is pretty excited to kickstart with Aashiq Abu whose Salt N' Pepper brought out a new wave in Mollywoood.
"The main idea of Film Brewery is to bring out creative people and give them a creative platform," affirms Suraj, executive producer of Film Brewery. So, what makes this film different? "The story narration is different, we are confident about scriptwriter, Abhilash Kumar, and of course Aashiq Abu, a very talented and crisp film maker in Mollywood," says Suraj.
The movie is expected to hit the theatres by March 2012.
