A legal complaint filed over 'Kalki 2898 AD' makers over hurting religious sentiments

The successfully running 'Kalki 2898 AD' film receives a formal complaint from former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishna stating that the film hurts the religious sentiments of the Hindu. The complaint suggested that the makers, cast and crew should tender a public apology for a gross distortion and misrepresentation of lord Kalki in the film.

In the legal notice submitted by Pramod Krishna, the complainant suggested that the reinterpretation of Mahabharata in the film hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community and the notice also read that the makers should desist from distribution and publishing the film on any digital platform until the historical inconsistencies are rectified.

Speaking to IANS, Acharya Krishna Prasad said that his movie is not to trouble or harass tha makers but to ensure that the religious sentiments are not undermined or hurt with this artistic creativity. He added that the filmmakers mocked the Sanatan Dharma and that was not right.

'Kalki 2898 AD' grossed more than Rs 1000 crore at the box office and it has completed 25 days in theatres. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the cast of the film includes Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Brahmanandam, Disha Patani,SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Devarakonda.
