7 strange things that the 2021 Google search (entertainment) tell us!
Google search engine has announced its top 10 search results for the year 2021 year and the results are a bit strange, to say the least. 'K.G.F: Chapter 2', despite being the most-watched Indian trailer on its YouTube platform, finds no place in its search engine. Instead, two Hollywood movies make it to top 10 most searched lists in India. Here are the 6 strange things in Google 2021 search results from the entertainment section.

'RRR', 'Radheshyam', 'Pushpa' - none of the Pan-Indian movies get a place in the Top 10.
Despite Tollywood making several pan-Indian films, there have been lots of debates over various social media platforms regarding 'Radheshyam', 'RRR', 'Pushpa' not featuring in the Top 10 list of most searched movies or any of the Telugu actors' inclusion in the announced search results.

The most-watched Indian movie trailer ever is not the most searched movie for the same year.
Despite, Kannada film 'K.G.F: Chapter 2' is the most-watched movie trailer ever on YouTube in India this year (so far), the movie finds no place in the Top 10 movies section, even with respect to the India search results! Strangely 'Drishyam - 2' finds a place in the top 10 most searched movies list, which was mainly limited to Malayalam and the Telugu movie industries.

Mainly controversial news made it to the top 10
To top it, most of the announced list of celebs or movies searched on Google in 2021 seems to have some sort of a controversy surrounding it. Be it the movie content or its personalities, most of the above movies have some sort of controversy attached to them this year, which is not the case with Telugu films or their actors.

Jai Bhim - Caste controversy
Master - Income tax raid and several other controversies
Drushyam 2 - Legal suit filed on its content
Aryan Khan - Drugs controversy
Though there seems to be 'Tollywood's drug scandal' that didn't get the public attention as it is not new but a reopened case of the 2017 scandal.

strangely, Hollywood movies top the Indian movie search list!
The 2021 movie search results show that there is an increase in the film searches for Hollywood superhero films in India, such as ‘Eternals’ and ‘Gozilla vs Kong’ by standing at no.6 and 8th places respectively, whereas 'KGF:2'/'RRR'/'Radheshyam' or the name 'Prabhas' finds no place in its announced results! This seems to be a bit ambiguous, as India is one of the largest countries to use the internet and people who search for local movies are sure to be more in number than those who look up English movies.

No Indian film celeb/movie is internationally searched this year!
Also, there is no single South Indian movie or any Indian movie in the 'top 10 most searched films in the global list', like every time, this only goes to say that Indian cinema is not as popular as English cinema internationally, whereas we can see a couple of Chinese productions or filmmakers in the above list but not Indian movies or its stars, even on the OTT platforms.

Most of the searched personalities are from the Entertainment Industry!
But the good thing is, most of the searched personalities in India are from the Entertainment Industry. Five out of the top ten searched personalities are from the Entertainment Industry though not from the Telugu/southern Industry.

Cricket beats movies!
Despite the country suffering severely from the deficiency of Oxygen cylinders/covid vaccines, it was the Indian Premier league that beat the required medical products/movies people watched staying in-home on OTT's as IPL topped the chart, which only goes to say Cricket is more popular than movies in this country.
