50 years of Big B: Sumanth remembers ANR’s words on Amitabh Bachchan

Legendary Superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan has successfully completed his 50th year on the celluloid. The 76-year-old thespian has signed his first film ‘Saat Hindustani’ on this very day in 1969. It has been a roller-coaster journey for the ‘Angry Young Man of Bollywood’ both on the personal and professional front. After a sea of bankruptcy geared up to drown him in 2000, his sheer dedication and undying spirit to fight all odds made him swim out of that whirlpool and turn a minus into a triple plus.According to a BBC poll conducted in 1999, Amitabh was named the Superstar of the Millennium beating the likes of Alec Guinness and Marlon Brando.
Reacting to Big B’s five decades in the business, Sumanth took to Twitter and shared an interesting post. The ‘Godavari’ actor revealed that his grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao advised him to follow Amitabh in real life rather than him. Sumanth also stated that Senior Bachchan is his inspiration to become an actor.
After a series of failures in the last decade, the Akkineni scion bounced back into form with the surprise success of his rom-com ‘Malli Raava’ in 2017.
