5 years for Baahubali: The Beginning : Tamannaah Bhatia reminisces about her role

It has been seven years since SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali first began shoot recently and five since it first hit screens on July 10.

The film that starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles took the world by a storm and still continues to do so, years after its release. On the occasion, the filmmakers released a

special video

cut by producer Shobu Yarlagadda’s son Karthikeya Yarlagadda, which shows the essence of the film.

On the occasion, the actress also spoke to Chennai Times and reminisced of when she played the role of the

, played by Anushka Shetty in the film. Her first memory of the film is the look test, when that happened; the actress reveals that she knew she had something different in her hand. And she was right, seeing as how her introduction in the film involves a muddy fight.

“I'd never done a full-fledged fight before, never come out in that kind of an avatar before, so I also didn't know what to expect out of myself at that point of time. I think I could completely go through the process only because of Rajamouli sir, Peter Hein sir and Prabhas,” she was quoted as saying. The actress also reminisced of how everyone in the cast and crew knew they were working on something special, but none of expected the film to receive the kind of love it still gets.

Since Baahubali, Tamannaah has starred in films like F2, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Petromax and more. She has also shot for the Telugu remake of Queen, titled That is Mahalakshmi, which is yet to hit screens, apart from Bole Chudiyaan in Hindi and Seetimaarr in Telugu.
