The plot of the film revolves around the happy-go-lucky Murari whose Zamindar ancestors have been victims of Goddess Durga's generational curse since the mid-19th century. Every 48 years, one of the royal family's heirs loses his life and Murari is the one who is to be succumbed by the curse. The film deals with Murari's redemption to overcome the curse through his spiritual will, and through his grandmother's self-sacrifice.
Released to immense critical acclaim and solid commercial reception, Murari introduced
Peter Hein to Telugu cinema as the stunt choreographer and the film marked the last on-screen appearance of veteran Telugu actor Dhulipala Seetarama Sastry.
On the work front, Mahesh is currently occupied with the shooting of
Sarkaru Vaari Paata
in Dubai. Directed by Parasuram of ‘Geetha Govindam’ fame, the action-entertainer reportedly revolves around the financial frauds in the banking sector and the protagonist will be seen in dual roles.
