Nani’s special 25
th film V is out on OTT as of September 5 and what many don’t know is that the actor has a very special connect with the date.
12 years ago, Nani made his debut with the same director
Mohan Krishna Indraganti, on the same date with
Ashta Chamma
. The film released in 2008 and was a massive hit when it released. Nani’s fans even trended the hashtag #NaniDebutTrendOnSept4th to show their love for the actor. When Nani was asked about the coincidence in a recent interaction, he said, “It’s just a happy coincidence that V is releasing on the exact same date my first film did. While the film was supposed to hit screens in March, it’s getting a digital release now. Guess it was meant to be.”
Mohan Krishna Indraganti agrees. “We didn’t plan it this way but I’m glad the dates matched. Ashta Chamma was such a memorable film for me and Nani both, I cannot believe 12 years have passed already. Nani is now 25 films now but he didn’t even realise that when I narrated this film to him,” he says, adding, “When I asked him later on if he’s sure about playing an antagonist for such a landmark film, he had no qualms. The quality of giving it all to a script is truly rare and Nani has it.”
Nani even booked a preview theatre for all his family to catch the film together, “Right from Ashta Chamma I have the sentiment of catching the first show at the theatre. So I booked a preview theatre just for the family. Time flies, I have learnt so much as an actor in the last 12 years.”
