Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, fondly known as Sr NTR, emerged from humble beginnings to become a prominent figure in both the Telugu film industry and politics. NTR's breakthrough role came in the form of Lord Krishna in the critically acclaimed film 'Maya Bazaar' (1957).
