Director Krish is head-over-heels in the pre-production work of his next period drama, 'Manikarnika', a biopic on Jhansi ki Rani, Lakshmi Bai.
Actress Kangana Ranaut is playing the title role in the film, which will be shot only in Hindi and is dubbed into Tamil and Telugu.
There were several rumours about Kangana co-directing the flick to which, director Krish made a clarification recently.
Speaking about the project, Krish mentioned that Kangana will only do her part in acting and is or will not be involved in direction.
Earlier, Kangana and Krish launched the poster at Jhansi, which won several accolades and stirred up a bit of controversy. The actress was quoted saying to a leading news paper, "I feel that Rani of Jhansi is very relatable for women like us. Life without respect was equivalent to death for her. I think that is something I completely identified with."
Meanwhile, the director has planned elaborate schedules to be shot at Jhansi of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Varanasi. Huge sets were also being set-up in Ramoji Film City for the same.
Finally, it seems like all things are in place for 'Manikarnika' to go on floors. Shankar Ehsaan Loy will score music for this film.
The movie is aimed for theatrical release on April 27, 2018.
