I will be directing a Telugu film soon: Atlee Kumar

Director Atlee Kumar, who has directed some popular Tamil hits like Raja Rani, Theri and Mersal, is now coming up with another huge film called Bigil, starring Vijay and Nayanthara in the lead role.

The film, which is going to be an action-packed sports drama is releasing in Telugu with the title Whistle. Atlee, who was in the city for the promotion of the film expressed his love towards Telugu audience and revealed that he will be soon directing a Telugu film.

“It is a dream of mine to direct a Telugu film and it will happen soon, this is the good news I wanted to share with you. I am very happy with love I receive from the Telugu audience,” he said, adding, “Whenever my film releases, I get a call from Jr NTR sir. He’s a sweet-heart who always encourages me. I have great love towards him. It makes me happy that Whistle is releasing on 700 screens in Telugu.”

Stating that it is atrocities against women that drove him to make the film, he said, “The film is a mix of sports and action drama. Whistle is for all the women in the country. Crime against women is on a rise and that’s not okay. But they are what drove me to make a film like Whistle too. I feel this is a film that’ll connect with everyone.”
