Evaru proves that betting on new talent will pay off: PVP

has been the talk of the town ever since its release thanks to its unexpected twists and turns. With the Adivi Sesh and Regina-starrer raking in the moolah at the box-office, producer Prasad V Potluri aka PVP has a spring in his step. “The feeling of receiving so much love from the audience for the hard work that we put in for two years is unmatched. It’s truly gratifying,” beams PVP.

(The Invisible Guest), but the producer says making a remake is far more challenging than helming an original. “Out of the four films we’ve made, Kshanam and Ghazi were originals, while Oopiri and Evaru were adaptations. And to tailor them to suit our sensibilities was not an easy job. Ramji, Sesh and Abburi Ravi (who penned the dialogues) took a year just to write the script for Evaru. But I’m glad the adaptation is getting the respect it rightly deserves,” he says.
Through the years, the producer has managed to balance both big budget films like Maharshi and Raju Gari Gadhi 2 and limited budget films like Evaru, without compromising on quality. He says, it’s all thanks to the audience. “even though the Hindi adaptation Badla, released first, we knew people would enjoy our film because we changed the story completely. The audience today can respect a niche drama without fights, songs and other commercial elements. But the kind of love we’re
getting is beyond our expectations,” PVP reckons.
The producer says he’s making a conscious effort to encourage new talent, be it with Ravikanth Perepu in Kshanam, Sankalp Reddy with Ghazi or now Ramji with Evaru, and this approach has paid rich dividends. What’s more, they have all made a mark in the industry. “Ramji worked with us for a long time before directing this film. personally, I want to back young talent because their level of commitment is a whole different ball-game; they know they need solid content if they are to make a mark,” he says, adding, “We were lucky to have Ramji on-board and of course, Sesh, who understands every craft of filmmaking.”In fact, Venkat Ramji is already busy planning another film with his production house, reveals PVP. “Sesh will also do another film with us after Goodachari 2 and it will hopefully be a hattrick of hits for us with him. Mahi V Raghav’s Syndicate will be a massive pan-India film while Vamshi Paidipally is also on-board for a film. Additionally, we also have two more films with debut directors. So there’s a lot to do,” he says, signing off.
