The secret behind Pooja Hegde's name

Pooja Hegde, who has acted in couple of Telugu films like Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda, is now gearing up for her debut in Bollywood. Recently, when she was the guest on a quiz show, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, she revealed the secret behind how she got her name. "I was born on the day of Lakshmi Pooja and my grandfather was keen to name me as Lakshmi; however, a big argument ensued in the family since my mother's sister thought it was quite old-fashioned. Finally, they decided to name me Pooja," the actress, whose family has roots in Udupi, revealed. Born and brought up in Mumbai, the actress went on to become the second runner-up in 2010 Miss Universe India competition and her next film is Ashutosh Gowarikar's Mohenjo Daro, in which she is paired with Hrithik Roshan.
