Not many people know that actor Siddharth actually dreamt of becoming a director. After passing out of SP Jain Institute of Mangement and Research with an MBA, Siddharth laded the job as an assistant director for Mani Ratnam. He assisted the filmmaker in the Madhavan starrer ​Kannathil Muthamittal whihc released in 2002. Around that time director Shankar was looking for new faces to cast in Boys. The script writer of the film Sujata spotted Siddharth on the sets of Mani Ratnam's film and was convinced that he would suit the role of Munna in the movie.
Siddharth auditioned for the role and the rest as they say is history. The film became a hit and he soon starred in Mani Ratnam's 2004 film Ayatha Ezhuthu in 2004. The next year he debuted in Telugu cinema with the film Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana.
