Manisha was first considered for Arunachalam

Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Arunachalam (1997), directed by Sundar C, is regarded as one of the best films in the actor’s career. Initially the makers thought to rope in Manisha Koirala, who was basking in the glory of successive hits like in Bombay and Indian.
Later, director Sundar C also approached Meena who had featured in Rajinikanth's previous super hit film Muthu but things did not work out and eventually Soundarya and Rambha were signed on as heroine.
