Charmi's father clears the air about his daughter's involvement in the Tollywood drug scandal

The Tollywood drug scandal brought up a bunch of names, consisting of several bigwigs of the Telugu film industry and Charmi’s name is one amongst them.
Responding to reports of Charmi’s involvement in the drug scandal, her father Deep Singh Uppal tried to clear the air. The actress will be appearing before the excise department soon and the father shared that his daughter and wife are ‘deeply disturbed’ by the events that transpired.
He states that his daughter has been working since the age of 13 and has no time to spend on such baseless allegations. He believes she wants the longevity of her career and will hence stay away from such illegal activities.
He came down hard on the media for spreading the names even before the excise department had officially announced them. He urged people to think about families before spreading rumours. The actress shared the following message on social media to thank her father and everyone else supporting her through this - Thank u dad n each n every one supporting us.
Charmi’s partner in Puri Connects, a talent management firm, director Puri Jagannadh has reportedly already met the SIT today on July 19, 2017. Charmi will be present before the SIT on July 20, 2017.
