Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja starrer ‘Waltair Veerayya’ released yesterday (Jan 13, 2023). The action comedy film directed by KS Ravindra aka Bobby Kolli received mixed reviews both from the Telugu audience and the critics for its performances, content and execution.

The film is said to be made with a whopping budget of Rs 100+ crores and is said to have minted over Rs 35 crores on its opening day from all across the globe. However, there is a dip in the film’s day 2 collections and the film has a chance to hit a century in no time as it is a festival season.

Reportedly, The film has 60-75% packed houses now and is expected to bring in more surprising numbers in the coming days. The film’s Hindi version is said to have fallen flat due to its poor promotions and release in the north belt with just 10 -20% occupancy. 'Waltair Veerayya' makers are yet to announce their official box-office collection figures. However, as per the few reliable sources that say that the film is close to minting over 1M USD in the USA which is little higher compared to the Balayya's film 'Veera Simha Reddy'.

This time two big star films are released in Tollywood back to back besides other language dubbing films. Yes, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ was released first in Theaters on 12th Jan 2023 ahead of Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’. Sankranthi is a lucky festival for Balayya and for many years his films have been doing well that were released for Sankranthi. Though there is this dubbing film ‘Tegimpu’ released today it is NBK’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ that will light the lamps and start the festival.

This film's lead character’s attire says it is a full-on action drama film with a faction background.
