'Vinaya Vidheya Rama' box office collections day 1: Despite the flak, Ram Charan's film sees a good opening

Boyapati Sreenu’s ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ released on January 11 and despite the memes and negative reviews it left in its wake, the film seems to have emerged the winner in AP and Telangana at the box office.Also See: Vinaya Vidheya Rama Movie Review Even at the Chennai box office, the film came second only to ‘NTR: Kathanayakudu’, making better business that even the audience’s most preferred ‘F2’. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to social media to confirm the same and wrote, “#Sankranti2019 AP/TG Jan 9th - 13th BO: 1. #VinayaVidheyaRama, 2. #F2, 3. #NTRKathayanakudu, 4. #Petta” (sic) He also added, “Jan 9th - 13th #Chennai City BO - Top 5: #Pongal2019 Releases. 1. #Petta, 2. #Viswasam, 3. #NTRKathayanakudu, 4. #VinayaVidheyaRama, 5. #F2” (sic) The film’s theatrical value stands at Rs 90 Cr and still has a way to go before it can be declared a hit. ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in lead roles, charting the journey of an ‘angry young man’ and his struggle to protect his family from evil forces. Vivek Oberoi plays the antagonist in the film that also features Prashanth and Sneha in key roles. The film however is receiving flak, spawning off many memes too, for not just defying logic, but for also lacking any plot or emotional basis with fleshed out characters one would invest in. Ram Charan plays the role of Ram while Kiara plays the role of his love-interest Seetha in the film.
