Venky Atluri’s debut film ‘Tholi Prema’ has received rave reviews ever since its release from the audience and reviewers both.
The film made good collections at the worldwide box office ever since its release, making it the second highest weekend grosser for Varun Tej, beating ‘Loafer’ and ‘Mister’. His earlier film ‘Fidaa’ with Sai Pallavi and Sekhar Kammula made great business too.
The film received enough attention before its release thanks to its title and even the promos.
Despite clashing with Sai Dharam Tej and Lavanya Tripathi’s ‘Inttelligent’ and Mohan Babu, Manchu Vishnu and Shriya Saran’s ‘Gayatri’, the film held its own at the box office. It opened to good response, collecting Rs 9.60 Cr gross at the box office on its opening day. ‘Fidaa’ had raked in Rs 8.90 Cr gross on its opening day worldwide.
Since then, ‘Tholi Prema’ collected Rs 17.30 Cr gross worldwide in the first weekend and in three days; the movie earned Rs 9.20 Cr for its distributors. ‘Mister’ had raked in Rs 10.25 Cr gross worldwide on its opening and ‘Loafer’ had made Rs 16.15 Cr gross. ‘Fidaa’ however reportedly made Rs 25.60 Cr gross in the first weekend.
