Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava has been a major box office success since its release on February 14, 2025. The film’s Telugu-dubbed version, which released on March 7, 2025, has also seen a noteworthy run despite entering the market later. However, after an initial surge, the Telugu version has witnessed a significant drop, declining by 60% on its second Monday. The film opened to Rs 2.5 crore collection on day 1 with week 1 ending with Rs 11.8 crore. During the second weekend the added another Rs 2.15 crore to its kitty with Sunday collection being Rs 75 lakh. But on its second Monday the film’s collection dropped to just Rs 30 lakh, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 14.25 crore.

Despite the Telugu version’s moderate performance, Chhaava has been a nationwide blockbuster, crossing the Rs 500 crore mark in India. The Hindi version has contributed Rs 551 crore, while the Telugu version has added Rs 14.25 crore. This achievement places Chhaava among the highest-grossing Indian films, alongside Pushpa 2: The Rule, Jawan, Stree 2, Gadar 2, Pathaan, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Animal.

The Telugu version of Chhaava had a promising start but has struggled to maintain momentum. While its initial collections suggested audience interest, the 60% drop on the second Monday indicates declining traction in Telugu-speaking regions. Factors such as competition from regional films, cultural differences, and marketing strategies may have influenced its performance.

In conclusion, while Chhaava has been a resounding success nationwide, its Telugu version has had a moderate impact, reflecting the challenges faced by dubbed films in penetrating regional markets.
