Samantha Ruth Prabhu's 'Shaakuntalam' falls short at the box office; collects Rs 9.15 crore
Moving on to the box office collections, 'Shaakuntalam' reportedly garnered 4.32 crore shares domestically, along with a worldwide collection of 9.15 crore. Analyzing these figures reveals that the film incurred an overall loss of approximately 14.68 crore. It is unfortunate that 'Shaakuntalam' did not achieve the desired commercial success, resulting in a financial setback for the producers.
In addition to Samantha's captivating performance, the film featured Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, along with an ensemble cast including Mohan Babu, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. The technical crew included acclaimed music director Mani Sharma, cinematographer Sekhar V. Joseph, and editor Prawin Pudi.
Despite the underwhelming performance of 'Shaakuntalam' at the box office, Samantha's career continues to soar. Her next venture takes her to Bollywood, where she is set to make her debut in the highly-anticipated web series, Citadel. Directed by Raj & DK, the series features Varun Dhawan as the protagonist and has generated considerable buzz among fans.
