Ever since the success of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, Prabhas has gone on to become an audience favourite. Each of his subsequent films have opened to huge numbers at the box office, showing how fans expect him to do bigger and better things. This year itself he gave the biggest hit of the year with Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD minting more than Rs 640 crore.
Now as he turns a year older, his last year’s release Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire is being re-released in the United States of America, in limited screens. The film is already the 11th biggest hit of Indian Cinema in North America, with a total collection of US $ 8.93 million and the response to the film’s release is overwhelming.
Just a couple of days ago, the film has sold just 85 tickets from its 74 locations earning about just over US $ 540. But now, the film has managed to sell more than 555 tickets from 91 locations, collecting over US $ 3600, a jump of over 550 % in just 2 days. With the shows starting from tomorrow, one can expect the total day collection to at least reach US $ 10,000 by the end of the day.
Salaar also featured Prithiviraj, Jagapathi Babu, Shruti Haasan and Sriya Reddy in leading roles. The film was directed by Prashanth Neel after the success of KGF series, and is currently working on the sequel of the film along with his next with Jr. NTR.
