As Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule continues its rage at the box office across the globe, the action now moves to Ram Charan’s first release post the super success of RRR. Ram Charan is all set to release his film Game Changer directed by Shankar and co-starring Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah on the 10th of January.

While the advance booking for the film is yet to open in India, the tickets have already gone on sale in the United States of America, and the film has taken a good start for itself selling nearly 750 tickets from over 100 locations and collecting more than US $ 22,000 ( Rs 19 lakh).

When compared to the number of tickets that were sold by Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 during its pre-release period, Ram Charan’s film lacks in a big way. Telugu Cinema has grown by leaps and bounds, thanks to films led by Prabhas like Baahubali series, Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire and Kalki 2898 AD which ended up benefiting NTR Jr’S Devara Part 1 and Pushpa 2. When it comes to Game Changer, it has currently opened in less numbers of locations and has also received less shows. However, as the release day nears, more locations and more screens will be getting added to the mix.

Game Changer is Shankar’s first release since the debacle of Indian 2, its sequel to 1997 superhit film Indian with Kamal Hassan. The film did decent numbers, but didn’t match up with the kind of money put into it. Based on its performance, it is being rumoured that Indian 3 would be a direct to OTT release, but things might change if Game Changer does well.
