The Telugu comedy sequel, MAD Square, directed by Kalyan Shankar and starring Narne Nithiin,Sangeeth Shobhan, Ram Nithin and Priyanka Jawalkar , has made a notable impact at the North American box office on its opening day. By early evening on day 1 the film had grossed over US $ $233,000 across 256 locations, reflecting a strong turnout and the film's growing popularity among audiences.
Advance sales of the film for its premiere shows were equally impressive. The film secured over US $ $280,000 from 283 locations, with 629 shows and selling more than 19,000 tickets in the United States alone. This robust pre-release performance underscores the heightened anticipation and enthusiasm surrounding the sequel, building upon the success of its predecessor , Mad.
In the United States, the film's breakeven point is set at $1 million. Given the promising initial figures, Mad Square is well on its way to achieving this target. The film's engaging narrative and comedic elements have resonated with audiences, contributing to its early box office success.
The film's domestic performance also sets a high bar, the film on its day 1 has collected Rs 7.75 crore as per Sacnilk. In Telugu speaking states the film clashed with Nithiin, Sreeleela, David Warner and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Robinhood- but this one has opened to disastrous response at the box office. It has earned just Rs 2 crore in India and doesn’t seem likely that the film will see any major spike in the coming days. Even in the US market- the film has collected just US $ 40,000 by early evening on day 1.
MAD Square continues to draw audiences with its engaging storyline and comedic appeal. As the film progresses through its theatrical run, it remains poised to achieve significant milestones both domestically and internationally.
