Ravi Teja's latest film, 'Mr. Bachchan', directed by Harish Shankar, hit the screens on Independence Day with mixed reviews and a somewhat lukewarm response at the box office. Despite the high expectations surrounding the film, it managed to earn only Rs. 5.3 crores on its opening day. This figure was considerably lower than anticipated, given the star power of Ravi Teja and the buzz leading up to the release.

According to reports by Sacnilk, the film's net collection in India was around Rs. 3.50 crores on its first day, with a 41.18% overall occupancy in Telugu-speaking regions. The movie saw its highest occupancy during the afternoon shows, which peaked at 53.75%, while the morning and night shows had lower turnouts of 35.04% and 30.73%.

Mr.Bachchan Movie Review

'Mr. Bachchan' is a Telugu adaptation of the 2018 Hindi film 'Raid', which starred Ajay Devgn. The plot centres around an intense income tax raid, with Ravi Teja playing the role of a government official leading the operation. While the movie retains the core storyline of the original, it incorporates elements unique to Tollywood, aiming to cater to the local audience. However, despite these efforts, the film struggled to meet the high expectations.

Jagapathi Babu plays the role of the main antagonist, while Bhagyashri Borse makes her Tollywood debut as the female lead.

The movie's underwhelming opening could also be linked to the crowded release date. With several other films competing on Independence Day, 'Mr. Bachchan' found itself in a tough spot, unable to draw in the large crowds that were expected. The film's performance in the coming days will determine its footing at the box office.
