'Mirai' box office collection day 10: The Teja Sajja starrer inches close to Rs 80 crore

Karthik Gattamneni's action fantasy flick 'Mirai' continues its strong run in theatres. Starring Teja Sajja in the lead, the film entered its second Sunday as it continues to perform well at the box office. According to early estimates, the film earned Rs 5.75 crore on Day 10.As per Sacnilk, 'Mirai' opened to glowing reviews on September 12 and quickly turned into a crowd-puller across multiple languages. In its first week, the film made over Rs 65.1 crore, with the lost share coming from the Telugu version, making Rs 50.71 crore. The Hindi dub of the film made over Rs 13.1 crore. The Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam version also added their share of Rs 73 lakh, Rs 38 lakh, and Rs 18 lakh, respectively.On day 8, the film saw a slight dip, making its lowest single collection of Rs 2.75. But, on the weekend, it went on to collect Rs 5.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 5.75 crore on Sunday. This brings the total collection to Rs 78.75 crore domestically.

Theatre occupancy

Speaking about the film's theatre occupancy, the Telugu version clocked an overall 49.99% occupancy with strong evening and night shows. Afternoon shows ran at 61.38% and evening shows at 63.15%.
The Hindi version followed with a decent 25.92% occupancy. Interestingly, Hindi audiences turned up in good numbers for afternoon and evening shows, standing at 32.44% and 37.36% respectively.

Apart from Teja Sajja, who plays Vedha, the film also stars Ritika Nayak, Manchu Manoj as the menacing Black Sword, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Saran, and Jayaram in key roles.The grand scale visuals and VFX-driven action have helped the film appeal to a pan-India audience. It tells the story of Vedha who is destined to protect the nine sacred scriptures. To get a hold of its powers, Mahabir aka Black Sword, tries to collect it, to take over the world.
