Though Indian films do well in the US, it's unusual for a film to cross 1 million dollars (INR 6.5 crore) at US theatres. Adivi Sesh starrer 'Major', the biopic of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, has earned over $ 1 million at the
US box office
.
In the first week in cinemas worldwide, 'Major' reportedly grossed over Rs 42.5 crore and has earned the blockbuster tag. Good reviews along with positive word of mouth from fans at large have helped the film rake in Rs 40 crore at the worldwide box office in its opening week.
Helmed by Sashi Kiran Tikka the actor-director duo has made a good comeback with 'Major'. The actor has been treating the audience with emotional content, whistle-worthy dialogues, action, and romance touted as his best act. The film, which is Adivi Sesh’s second collaboration with Sashi, also features Saiee Manjrekar as his love interest.
'Major' was also written by Adivi Sesh, produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies. Also starring Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Revathi, Murali Sharma and Anish Kuruvilla in key roles, the technical crew includes Sricharan Pakala as the music composer, Vamsi Patchipulusu as the Director of Photography, and Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and Kodati Pavan Kalyan as the editors.
