Mahanati box-office collections: Keerthy Suresh-starrer enters million dollar club

The phrase #MillionDollarMahanati has been trending across social media. This is the result of the staggering box-office success of Nag Ashwin's latest venture 'Mahanati', a biopic on yesteryear cine icon Savitri. Actress Keerthy Suresh has portrayed Savitri's role in the film, which has won tremendous critical acclaim as well as appreciation from the audience.

The positive reviews and word-of-mouth reaction from the audience has translated into box-office success for the makers, both domestic and overseas, with the film collecting over $1 million at the overseas box-office.
"Telugu film #Mahanati is making a SPLASH in key international markets... Crosses million dollar mark in USA [details later in the day]... AUSTRALIA is holding STRONG... UK [considered a ‘slow market’ for most Indian films] is GOOD... NZ is ROCK-STEADY... Data follows... (sic)," noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter.
