Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupama Parameswaran-starrer 'Karthikeya 2' blew up at the box office. The most surprising thing about the film is that it got a great response in the Hindi belt as well. As a result, the film earned a lot in 4 days.
The Hindi version of 'Karthikeya 2' has been officially declared a hit in week 2 at the box office. The film has been doing good business in the mass circuits despite tough competition from Lal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan. There was a jump in the biz on Sunday, followed by another jump in collections on Monday on the occasion of Independence Day.
On its opening day, the Hindi version of the film had minted Rs 7 lakhs, on Saturday the film had collected Rs 28 lakhs and earned Rs 1.10 crore on Independence Day. On Tuesday, it minted Rs 1.28 crore. The total earnings of the film's Hindi version roughly stand at Rs 2.73 crore. The film has not only ruled the screens in the Telugu states as wel las north belt, it is also charming the cash box abroad becoming the latest film to join the half a million dollars club in the United States.
Nikhil’s stellar performances and the strong story has weaved magic at the box office. Word of mouth and good reviews have also attracted more footfalls in the week after Independence Day. 'Karthikeya 2' has not only hit the box office bullseye but is here to stay for the long haul.
'Karthikeya' 2 hit the big screens on August 13. The film is shot in Telugu, but it has been dubbed and released in various languages like Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The mystery thriller has been written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts in collaboration with People Media Factory. The film has brilliant production values. Cinematographer Karthik Ghattamneni, editor Goutham Nerusu and music director Kaala Bhairava form the technical crew.
