Megastar Chiranjeevi's Telugu remake of Malayalam film ‘Godfather’ hit the screens yesterday and the film has been getting good word of mouth for its content and execution. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Mohan Raja, the above film has Salman Khan playing the pivotal role and making his acting debut in Telugu cinema.
Despite the market having Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’, and Telugu dubbed Maniratnam’s film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ with an ensemble star cast. ‘God Father’ is said to have reportedly minted solid figures on its opening day. In Nizam alone, the film has reportedly collected over Rs 3 crores, and adding all the other centers it has gathered over Rs 35+ crores (gross).
The film is said to have got over Rs 19.05 crores (Nett) from the Telugu version. While Rs 0.78 crores (Nett) in its Hindi version. The film has another $1.04 lakh revenue from the USA.
Also, The film is reportedly sold its theatrical rights for Rs 91 crores even before its release. And the film’s digital streaming rights were said to be sold to an International OTT giant for whopping Rs57 crores.
The makers have also got a whopping offer of Rs 45 crores for its Hindi dubbed digital rights. ‘Godfather’ is a political action film that has its dialogues penned by Lakshmi Bhupal, and cinematographed by Nirav Shah, the film music was composed by Thaman. S while it was edited by Marathand K. Venkatesh.
