'Devadas' box office collections day 1: Nagarjuna and Nani starrer rakes in 6.57 Cr worldwide

Nagarjuna, Nani, Rashmika Mandanna and Aakanksha Singh starrer ‘Devadas’ released on Thursday amidst high expectations and to packed screens.
The Sriram Adittya film is raking in good business at the box office, making Rs 6.57 Cr worldwide on its first day. Featuring music by Mani Sharma, the film saw the pairing of Nagarjuna and Nani for the first time on-screen. “#DevaDas makes an excellent start at the box office in weekday,” (sic) reads a press note on social media.The theatrical value of the film reportedly stood at Rs 38 Cr according to Andhra Box Office. Receiving rave reviews from critics and audience like, here’s a breakdown of the film’s numbers:

‘Devadas’ charts the journey of a don called Deva and a good hearted Dr Das. Deva and Das are contrasting characters, with one being a menacing gangster and the other being a kind-hearted doctor who wants to believe the best of people. The bromance between Nani and Nagarjuna’s character was appreciated by many, so was the humour. Nani in particular received rave appreciation for his role.
The actor took to social media to address the love the film has gotten and wrote, “Thank you for all the love. One more Friday which will be memorable .. oops sry Thursday .. Dr.Das ki kangaaru ekkuva kadha. It’s time for a group HUG. #DevaDas” (sic) Nagarjuna on the other hand declared the film a hit even before it released. Leaving on a vacation before the film’s release, he wrote, “Just finished watching #Devdas with my family and I HAVE A WINNER IN MY POCKET!!! Leaving hyd with a smile on my face with my family and it’s holiday time!!Thanks to the legendary @VyjayanthiFilms amazing @NameisNani and the young &talented@sriramadittya,” and added, “On my way out on a big jet plane. holiday!!!!! @NameisNani and Akkineni fans are going to hv a blast tomorrow... enjoy the show my friends!!!!” (sic)
