Nandamuri Kalyanram’s latest release 'Bimbisara,' which also stars Catherine Tresa and Samyuktha Menon, is setting the cash registers on fire. The Mallidi Vasishta directorial turned out to be a blockbuster hit at the box office.
According to the trade report, the Nandamuri Kalyanram-starrer earned Rs 9.25 crore on the first day. On Saturday, the film collected Rs 7.75 crore. The total earnings for two days are Rs 17 crores. The film managed to pull the audience into the theatres. It did business of 15 crores for theatrical rights. It is expected to do good business on Sunday as well.
'Bimbisara' opened to decent reviews this Friday. In his review for Times Of India, a film critic gave the film three and a half stars out of five and wrote: ''The Telugu fantasy action film written and directed by debutant Mallidi Vashist will surprise the audience with its grandeur, power-packed performances, epic background score and fantastic visuals. The movie's first half is a runaway hit, and the second half could have been better. Kalyan Ram as Bimbisara was brilliant — probably his best performance to date.''
'Bimbisara' stars Jr. NTR's brother Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the title role of the Emperor of Magadh in the 5th century BC. The film is produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's home banner NTR Arts. The technical crew of Bimbisara included editor Tammiraju, cinematographer Chota K Naidu, music directors MM Keeravani and Chirrantan Bhatt and lyricists Sreemani, Varikuppala Yadagiri, M. M. Keeravani and Chaitanya Prasad.
