‘Bagheera’ box office collections day 5: Srimurali starrer only mints 15 crores worldwide

Prashanth Neel-penned superhero film 'Bagheera' has grossed a disappointing Rs 15 crores worldwide in its first five days. Despite a strong opening in Kannada markets, the film, starring Srimurali, has seen a decline in ticket sales due to lukewarm reviews. Critics praised Srimurali's performance as the titular character, but found the plot and supporting characters predictable. 'Bagheera' also underperformed in Telugu markets, collecting a meager Rs 1.53 crores in five days. The film's financial struggles highlight the challenges faced by non-franchise superhero films in the Indian market.

Coming to the Kannada box office collections, Dr. Suri’s directorial has collected Rs 12.62 crores and on day 5 the film minted Rs 1.12 crores as per the early estimates. The movie opened with a magnificent Rs 2.55 crores in Kannada markets, which is seeing a gradual decline due to mediocre reviews.

In the Telugu markets, ‘Bagheera’ has collected Rs 1.53 crores and on day 5, it has only collected Rs 13 lakhs which is underwhelming for a film that came with high expectations.
‘Bagheera’ is touted to be a superhero movie in a ‘Black Panther’ style and stars Srimurali, Prakash Raj, Achyuth Kumar, Rukmini Vasanth, and many others in pivotal roles.
ETimes rated ‘Bagheera’ 3.5 out of 5 and our review read, “Sriimurali shines as Vedant and Bagheera. He looks the part and delivers yet another career-best performance. True to his Roaring Star monicker, Sriimurali roars in the film. His efforts shine bright in each and every scene. He excels in action sequences and manages to leave his trademark with each and every scene. But, besides him other characters and their character traits both become very predictable as the story progresses. Rukmini Vasanth plays his girlfriend, who is also a doctor, who he can conveniently come to, to get treated every time he is injured after a fight. Her role is limited to playing a ‘good , supporting girlfriend’.”
