Allu Arjun’s 'Pushpa 2' crosses Rs 8 crore mark for premiere shows in USA

Everyone was expecting fire from the trailer of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' which was launched on Sunday in Patna, instead it turned out to be a wildfire. The trailer generated a lot of positive response from fans and industry members with names like SS Rajamouli and Ram Gopal Varma taking to social media to praise it.


The impact of it can be seen in the advance booking for the premiere shows of the film in USA where bookings opened a month before the release. As per the current trend, the film has crossed US $ 960,000 ( Rs 8 crore) mark for its premiere shows in the country and by the end of the day it would be crossing US $ 1 million mark. With more than 2 weeks left for the film, one can expect the premiere days numbers to atleast hit US $ 2 million.It would be interesting to see if the film is able to become the highest grossing premiere film from India of 2024. The record is currently held by Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD with over US $ 3.9 million. On the other hand, the all-time highest premiere show record is held by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 with US $ 4.3 million.

'Pushpa 2 The Rule', is a sequel to the superhit hit film 'Pushpa : The Rise', which released in 2021 and also won Allu Arjun, the Best Actor National Award.


One of the reasons to release the trailer in Patna was to establish the film as a Pan-India film. The first part of the film had crossed Rs 100 crore in Hindi and the second part distributor Anil Thadani has paid almost Rs 200 crore for its North India distribution rights.

Pushpa 2 also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil , Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj.
