Story: Siva (Santosh Soban) is a youngster searching for a job, and Sruthi (Priya Bhavani Shankar) is a software employee. Both of them have been in love and decided to get hitched. Sruthi believes, for Siva, landing a job is just a matter of time. But how long will that belief last before things get complicated? Will there be a happy ending?

Review: Joining the list of Sankranti releases alongside some of the big commercial entertainers Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Vijay’s Varasudu, this film, Kalyanam Kamaneeyam offers a relatively simple and plain entertainment, unlike the others. The first half has a touch of a well-shot wedding film with flavoursome cinematography, nuanced performances and a lovely young couple. And the second half presents conflicts that life throws at them and the complications that arise because of them.

Siva is an unemployed yet responsible husband, and Sruti is a software engineer and a loving wife. With both families accepting their relationship and nodding yes to their marriage after a bit of discussion, life appears to be a book of fairytales. But getting a software job becomes the biggest challenge for Siva, and circumstances around him make things complicated. A relatable tale but a plain one with no heightened drama. The strong rallying point is that the film has its heart in place. If you are receptive enough, you might pick up a message from the conflicts and resolutions.

One of the noticeable aspects from the beginning of the movie is the efforts put in by the makers to present tastefully shot frames and soothing bright music. Background score and music by Sravan Bharadwaj, cinematography by Karthik Gattamneni and editing by Satya G make this simple movie delightful.

Santosh Soban as Siva and Priya Bhavani Shankar as Sruthi portray their characters with ease, are brilliant with their expressions and are a treat to watch. While there are no high-octane action sequences, power-packed dialogues, or gut-churning emotional scenes in the film, young faces, relatable emotions, and the quest for redemption are what it offers. Devi Prasad, Pavithra Lokesh, Satyam Rajesh, Saptagiri, Kedhar Shankar, Roopa Lakshmi, Saddam, and Karthik Prasad did their best in their roles, and there is nothing much to complain about.

Director Anil Kumar Aalla did a decent job in making the film, but the audience might find it too plain and easy. The film covers all the bases and has everything in place, but the oomph factor is what it lacks. The film needed more emotional depth and engaging writing. The short 1 hour 46 minutes runtime helps its relatively thin plot.

All’s well that ends well! Kalyanam Kamaneeyam works for you if you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing, light-hearted romantic drama with a little dose of humour.
