6 Glamourous Teachers of Tollywood who impressed big-time

Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions, and teachers are the stepping-stones that shape and nourish a student’s talent and potential. We all shared our happy & hate moments with teachers and it’s a part-and-parcel of student life. Interestingly, most of us had a crush on specific teachers during high-school and now, we can all say that it’s nothing but admiration.

Although Tollywood is more of a hero-driven industry with commercial potboilers, actresses also occasionally get to play different characters like a police officer, teacher, doctor, lawyer, etc. Despite extracting the best performance from them, our filmmakers also explore their attractive side on the celluloid. Over the years, several Telugu heroines have enacted the role of teacher on the silver screen and impressed the masses big-time.

Here are 6 glamourous teachers of Telugu cinema.

2/7

Ileana D’Cruz

Goa beauty Ileana kicked-off her film career in 2006 with ‘Devadasu’ and achieved overnight stardom after playing the role of an aerobic teacher in Mahesh Babu’s blockbuster hit ‘Pokiri’. She then appeared as the drawing teacher Nakshatra in the Ravi Teja starrer ‘Khatarnak’. With her sizzling personality and the beautiful saree, the character of the 30-year-old actress struck the right chord with the masses. The audience went to theatres to solely witness Ileana and her dance moves in a couple of super-hit songs.

3/7

Shruti Haasan

After playing the female lead in back-to-back superhits like ‘Yevadu’, ‘Race Gurram’ and ‘Srimanthudu’, Shruti Haasan has shed her hot image for the Telugu version of ‘Premam’ and donned a saree to play the college professor’s role of Sithara, originally portrayed by Sai Pallavi in Malayalam. Brushing all the trolls aside, the 32-year-old ‘Gabbar Singh’ girl impressed one and all with a striking performance and her dance moves in the impromptu dance scene is a delight to watch.

4/7

Asin

Asin’s first three Telugu films proved to be highly successful at the box-office with full marks to the Kerala girl in terms of looks, acting, dance and screen presence. Venkatesh’s action drama ‘Gharshana’ showcased Asin as a school teacher who falls in love with a police officer. The 32-year-old actress looked very tender and extremely adorable in the director-backed role of Maya and she firmly displayed her uncomplicated acting style.

5/7

Kamalinee Mukherjee

Kamalinee Mukherjee’s cameo appearance as an English lecturer in ‘Happy Days’ paid a fitting tribute to the charming-but-harmless student crushes during college days. Though a short role, the 38-year-old Bengali babe made her presence felt with her beautiful attire and appealing personality. She looked every inch like an English teacher in college who would always remain our favourite.

6/7

Swathi Reddy

Mohan Krishna Indraganti’s ‘Golconda High School’ portrayed Sumanth as a cricket coach and Swathi as an English teacher. Despite a cricket-based film, the 31-year-old Russian-born actress made a solid mark in her limited role and won critical acclaim. Swathi looked every bit like a high-school teacher in terms of attire and body language. The beautiful diva has recently tied the knot with her boyfriend Vikas in Hyderabad.

7/7

Raai Laxmi

After scorching the screen in the item number Ratthaalu from ‘Khaidi No. 150’, Raai Laxmi will be playing a sexy school teacher (like a Sushmita Sen in ‘Main Hoon Na’) in her upcoming Telugu film titled ‘Where Is The Venkatalakshmi’. Hotness will surely be redefined on the silver screen with this 33-year-old bombshell playing a glamourous role, and fans are in for a visual treat.
