Award-winning play Seethapathy delves into complexities of man-woman relationship

Ratnam Koothapiran’s new Tamil play ‘Seethapathy’, starring Vignesh Ratnam and Swathi Sridhar in the lead roles, delves into the complexities of a relationship.Vignesh, who plays Raghupathy in the play, says, “It is a relationship drama between a couple. A few unforeseen incidents cause trouble in their relationship. Will they part ways or will their love keep them united forms the crux. The entire play is narrated from a woman’s point of view.”The team had won three awards for this play at the Kodai Nataka Vizha, when it made its debut. “I treated this project like a film. Usually, in dramas, there will be a lot of dialogue. But here, we kept the dialogues minimal and delved into the character’s emotions and setting, giving the play a filmy vibe. We wanted audiences to relate it with the events in their lives,” says Vignesh.
