Speaking about the essence of the number, JPR, who’s producing and acting in the film, says, “There are five songs in the film, and this one is about Jallikattu, which is considered a ‘veera vilayattu’.

Jithendar Kaleeswar

and

Mersal Hariprasad

, who’s assisted AR Rahman, have composed the song. While the film’s director,

Pazhanikumaran

, and Mani have sung the song, I’ve penned this one. Since the song is about Jallikattu, we decided to launch it ahead of Pongal. It’s dedicated to the Tamizhar Thirunal, and all those students and youngsters who fought for Jallikattu.”

So, what’s the film about? “It’s a research subject. There’s a notion that only city-dwelling people can accomplish something in the field of science. But, many of us forget that our Abdul Kalam is from a small village in Rameswaram. The film’s about a youngster from the village who proves his mettle in the space of scientific research. Interestingly, he also happens to be a Jallikattu veeran,” he says, adding, “We’ll resume shooting from next week, and our schedule will take us to Virudhunagar, Srivilliputhur, Namakkal, Salem and Papanasam.”
