One of the most-anticipated movies of 2021,

Karnan

starring Dhanush is based on a real incident. The movie, directed by Mari Selvaraj is all set to release on April 9 in theatres. After the rousing welcome for the song, Kandaa Vara Sollunga, sung by Santhosh Narayanan, Kidakkuzhi Mariyammal, the team has released its second single now. Sung by Deva and Reetha, the song's lyrics are by Yugabharathi. The song has utilised nagaswaram and thavil among other instruments.

The team has showcased some scenes from the movie and also the making of the song in a heart-warming manner. The song Pandarathi Puranam is about the woamn who died of cholera. While one can witness Dhanush grooving for some energetic steps, his emotional side is also showcased by the director in the song. Lal and a team of folk artistes put up an emotionally moving scene in the song's video. The video ends when Dhanush's character asks everyone to stop crying and put up a dance with the karagattam artistes.

Earlier, Santhosh Narayanan had tweeted that he had roped in some folk artistes to record for the movie and the video shows glimpses from the making of the song including the folk artistes and lyricist along with director Mari Selvaraj. Dhanush in his tweet had complimented Santhosh for giving an opportunity to folk artistes and he was all praise for the music director's work in the movie.

The film's heroine is Rajisha Vijayan and the Malayali actress is making her Tamil debut with this Dhanush-starrer. Bankrolled by Kalaipuli Thanu's V Creations, the movie is said to be based on the Mancholai riots that took place in 1999.
