We recently told you about
Bose Venkat making his directorial debut with a film that has newbies in the lead. He also told us that he will be getting
Robo Shankar to sing a song in the film, which will mark his playback debut. While not much information was given to us then, the director now tells us that he has completed recording this peppy song with the actor-comedian.
Giving us more details, Venkat says, “We don’t have many songs in Tamil that talk about the lives of auto drivers. Except for Naan Autokaaran from
Rajinikanth’s Baasha, there is no other popular song. There is a sequence in our film, which will revolve around auto drivers. It talks about the life they lead and the struggles they face. However, music director Hari Sai has given the song a peppy twist. We wanted a voice that is relatable. Imagine an auto driver singing a song... it won’t be in sruthi and in the right thalam, right? And that’s when I thought, why not rope in Robo Shankar? He has a friendly demeanour and a voice that everyone is famliar with. He happily recorded the song for us and it has come out really well.”
