Music Review: The soundtrack of Vaibhav’s Sixer has a crisp lineup of three songs. Baa Baa Black Sheep is a fun riff on the popular nursery rhyme, which plays around with hip-hop. Sixer’s theme, too, spills into the song that is sung by Anirudh Ravichander and the film’s composer, Ghibran. The film’s protagonist suffers from night blindness, just like ace Tamil comedian Goundamani’s character in 1991 film Chinnathambi. The song mixes Goundamani’s dialogue with rap.

Another groovy listen is Pattaampoochi Kannalae. The melodious number, which traces an emerging romance, has vocals by Ghibran and Sowmya Mahadevan. The last song in the album, Engavena Kochikinu Po, sung by Sivakarthikeyan, falls short of achieving the ultimate ‘soup song’ status. While the beats complement its theme, the lyrics are a mishmash of typical heartbreak tropes.
