Music Review

:
Mysskin’s upcoming thriller Psycho, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nithya Menen, follows the work of a serial killer. The soundtrack of the film, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, is without question a fitting accompaniment to the genre.

The album begins with the crackling Unna Nenachu, rendered by Sid Sriram. It begins with a beautiful piano melody, setting the song’s tone. Kabilan’s lyrics add a wonderful touch to it, which is often heightened by a beautiful orchestra. The soulful number conveys the unrequited love of a man.

Sid Sriram has one more song in the film, Neenga Mudiyuma, which sounds almost like it has picked up from where Unna Nenachu left off. Written by Kabilan, the song is complimented by the brilliant usage of instrumental interludes.

Thaaimadiyil, the last song in the album, is sung by Kailash Kher. Written by director Mysskin, the song, which begins with an intense note, gradually ends up sounding like a pleasant lullaby.
