Album: Ippadai Vellum
Composer: D
Imman
The album begins with a motivational Ippadai Vellum Nichayame by
Shreya Ghoshal. It is interesting of Imman to have used Shreya’s voice for a song like this. Instead of being too loud, this inspirational song goes easy with the tune. Though, at parts, it sounds like a school anthem, this one’s a decently composed title song. Godfather Kanmaniye, yes you read that right, sung by
Aadharaa
is an out-and-out melody. The phrase is not catchy enough, and the song, too, sounds like one of Imman’s routine melodies. The singer has rendered well, though.
Thodra Pakkalaam by Imman is high on beats. A peppy number, this one’s well put together by the composer. In fact, this phrase is more catchy than the previous one. Kulebaa
Vaa
by Kumaresh Kamalakannan and
Nalini Krishnan
sounds exotic, with its Arabic feel. Doing away with his regular melodies, Imman has approached this one differently. The catchy phrase is sure to get to you after a while. The strings interlude is fab, and so are the singers. The album ends with the theme by Imman and Chennai Choir, a racy track. Overall, it is a mixed bag of decent and routine numbers by Imman!
