Movie: Dhilluku DhudduMusic Director: Thaman Ratings: 2.5 Music Review: When you compose music for a horror film, the scope to explore is limited for a composer. But can Thaman turn the tables for this one? The album starts off with Sivan Magan by Saisharan, Deepak and Nivas, which is high on energy. While the tune is composed like a typical spiritual number, the lyrics give a different meaning to this wildly exciting song.
Though the song starts off nice, it gradually moves to a familiar sound that weve heard before. The nadaswaram interlude, though, needs a mention as Thaman has used it well. Strictly for the big screen, though. Kaanamal Pona Kadhal by Nivas, Sanjana and Kalmanji is a romantic ballad. The song is well-composed with interesting interludes, and Nivas and Sanjana have rendered the song really well. This one, perhaps, is the best track in the album. The album ends with the title song, Dhilluku Dhuddu, by Deepak and MM Monissha, who croon in a style that is so repetitive of other high-energy title numbers that make us wonder why title songs have become so unimaginative. This three-song album gives us familiar genres, but whats interesting is that there isnt one number that gives you a horror-movie feel. Thaman has composed songs that might work for the film, but these are not songs that would make it to your playlist.
