Review: 100 is a cop film starring

Atharvaa

in the lead, which has music by Sam CS. For Sam, though, this is not the first cop film he has composed for. Keeping it short with just three songs, the album has all elements that pack a commercial outing — fun, mass and pathos numbers. Yen Di Raasathi by Sam CS and Kavita Thomas begins with a fun rendition by the composer himself. The tune is instantly likeable and the mood of the song is quite catchy, too. The strings portion and the veena interludes add different layers to this song. Bringing a touch of Indian in this otherwise modern number, Sam effortlessly gets it all right in this song.

This is followed by the energetic Agulu Bagulu, sung by Benny Dayal. The song follows a certain pattern that is tried and tested. A typical mass number, not even Benny’s zealous singing makes this one likeable. The lyrics, which talk about Atharvaa’s cop character in this film, is too clichéd. This number might work only for the big screen. Lastly, the album ends with a pathos number Nanba, rendered by composer Sam. Relying solely on voice and tune, Sam gets the essence of the song aptly through his voice. A well-arranged number, Sam proves he’s one of the best when it comes to this.
