Ilaiyaraaja stopped at Bengaluru airport

Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja had an argument at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru on Sunday. The composer and his family were on their way home to Chennai after a temple trip to Mangaluru. The security officer at the airport, manning the scanning machine, stopped the family after the scanner picked up broken pieces of coconut (prasadam). He asked them to step aside for checking.
A television channel employee who was present at the venue, says that the officer didn���t know who Ilaiyaraaja was. This was when his son, music composer Karthik Raja took pictures of the officer, which led to an altercation between the two. Though the officer ensured that the pictures were deleted, Karthik Raja���s action seems to have angered him. The family finally got on board after an hour of argument. The flight was delayed in the process.
