Rajinikanth's much-awaited ‘Kaala’ finally released on June 7 and has opened to a very good response from critics and audience. The film is being hailed as Rajinikanth’s best performance in years. While ‘Kaala’ is running to packed houses in theatres, the makers have now released the song ‘Thanga Sela’ from the film, which is doing rounds on social media. The video shows some candid moments between Eswari Rao and Rajinikanth, who play wife and husband in the film.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ is tipped to be gangster drama, which is said to have a strong political message. Set in Dharavi, the film has Rajinikanth playing a gangster named Kaala Karikalan, who is pitted against Nana Patekar, a cunning politician. According to trade reports, ‘Kaala’ seems to have gotten a terrific opening in Chennai and overseas market.
Reported to be made on a budget of Rs 140 crore, ‘Kaala’ is produced by
Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. Also starring Nana Patekar, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Pankaj Tripathi and
Samuthirakani in important roles, ‘Kaala’ has music by
Santhosh Narayanan.
