Blessed to have known her and having worked with her : Ilaiyaraaja on Lata Mangeshkar

As the nation’s golden voice Lata Mangeshkar passed away this morning, the entire nation has been mourning the demise of the Nightingale of India. Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, who collaborated with the singing legend in the iconic number Valaiyosai from Sathya, took to his social media page to share his grief.
In a video, the music legend, said, “For the last six- seven decades, in the history of Indian film music, Lataji mesmerised the world with her divine voice.I am deeply saddened by her passing away and her demise has created a huge void in me. I don’t know how I will come out of this. Her death is a huge loss not only to the music fraternity, but to the entire world. My deepest condolences to her family, Asha ji, Hridayanath ji and Usha ji.”

The composer also shared some rare pictures from the recording session. He wrote, “May she rest in peace & light up the heavens with her soulful voice. Heartbroken, but blessed to have known her & for having worked with her.. loved this incredible voice & soul... Lataji holds a place in our hearts that is irreplaceable…. That's how profoundly she has impacted our lives with her voice. (sic)
