Action-thriller: Kaththi is an action-thriller, which will have Ilayathalapathy Vijay in dual roles. The film is a cat and mouse chase between a dreaded gangster Vivek , played by Tota Roy Chowdhury and Kathiresan, played by Vijay.The film was earlier rumoured to be the sequel to Thuppaki. However, sources close to the film dismissed it as a rumour. The shoot for the film began in the famous Kalighat Kali temple in Kolkata.
