‘Kadai Kutty Singam’: 5 reasons to watch the Karthi-starrer

Karthi is once again back to the silver screen with the rural entertainer ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’, which is all set to hit the screens on July 13. The film, which is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainments, has already created positive vibes on social media, thanks to its trailer and promo videos. With the film releasing tomorrow, we give you five reasons to catch ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ in theatres.

Following the commercial success of the cop-thriller ‘Theeran Adhigaram Ondru’, Karthi teamed up with director Pandiraj for the first time for ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’. The excitement piqued when it was announced that Suriya would be producing the film. Among the younger lot, Karthi is someone who never disappoints, though many filmmakers have disappointed the actor. Last year, he gave two memorable performances in the form of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ and ‘Theeran’. From the promos, it looks like Karthi has once again given his best for ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’. On the other hand, Pandiraj is known for his crowd-pleasing family entertainers, be it ‘Pasanga’ or ‘Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga’. Will this Karthi-Pandiraj combo become successful at the ticket window? Well, only time will tell.

Going by the trailer, it’s quite evident that ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ revolves around the lives of farmers. Apparently, Karthi himself plays a farmer in the film and the actor reportedly underwent a lot of training to give life to the character. Pandiraj said that ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ will talk about the farmer’s issue as well. If reports are anything to go by, ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ is all about the farmers’ pride. Pandiraj also stated that the film will give importance to family values. However, ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ ran into a trouble after the Animal Welfare Board of India denied permission to shoot a rekla racing sequence. The makers somehow managed to shoot the sequence. Reports suggest that the rekla sequence has come out very well and will be a feast for the eyes.

Much before its release, ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ has already left the audience waiting for the film. Suriya took to Twitter to unveil the theatrical trailer of the film, which has received a very good response from the viewers, earning over two million views on YouTube. On the other hand, Karthi and his team have been rigorously promoting the film. Since Karthi has a reasonably good market in Telugu, the makers are simultaneously releasing ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ in Telugu as ‘Chinna Babu’. Recently, Vijay Deverakonda released a new promo from the Telugu version. Meanwhile, ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ faces competition from the parody film ‘Tamizh Padam 2’, directed by CS Amudhan. However, if ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ delivers what it promises in the trailer, the film is likely to win at the box-office.

‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ is one of those rare films that have a huge supporting cast. In an interview, director Pandiraj revealed that close to 20 artists have worked in the film. ‘Vanamagan’ fame Sayyeshaa will reportedly be seen as the leading lady, while Priya Bhavani Shankar, who became extremely popular after ‘Meyaadha Maan’ last year, will be playing an interesting role. Senior actor Sathyaraj has been roped in to play Karthi’s father in the film. According to Pandiraj, the father-son’s bond between Sathyaraj and Karthi will be one of the main highlights of ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’. The film also stars actors Bhanupriya, Viji Chandrasekhar, Ponvannan and Soori in supporting roles. However, the main reason to look forward to ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ is Suriya’s surprise cameo.

If there’s a music director who has captured the essence of village subject, then it has to be D Imman, who has churned out several blockbuster albums. More than city-centric stories, Imman’s score for rural entertainers like ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’, ‘Rajini Murugan’, ‘Kumki’ and ‘Rekka’ are more popular among youngsters. ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’ audio, which was released earlier this year, has already received a very good response from the audience. The album has four songs, out of which, the track ‘Sandakkari’ was well-received on social media. Apart from the songs, Imman’s background score is one of the reasons to look forward to in ‘Kadai Kutty Singam’.
